This light armored observation post was based on Sd.Kfz.10 and later on Sd.Kfz.250. 285 were produced by Demag
and Wegmann from March 1940 to June 1941. First 25 were produced from March to June of 1940 and saw service with
Sturmartillerie Batterien
(Assault Gun / Stug Batteries) in France in 1940. Later on Sd.Kfz.253 saw service with assault artillery batteries on the Eastern Front.
